Egly Estate and Winery

“Sümeg is the Western gateway to the a Balaton-uplands wineregion. Its viticultural and winemaking traditions and history are unique in the country. We founded our family winery based on this winemaking past. The centre of our winery is located right under the castle hill, in the 500 year-old cellar of the Bishop’s palace. Apart from our “Baglyas” cru, we revived the once famous vineyards on the steep West-facing slope of the castle-hill with a 15th century variety. Currently we work on 3,5 hectares, producing very characteristic terroir wines” ( abridged translation of a text from Egly website )
