Kofejto Winery

This tiny family-owned winery is located on the Western side of Somlo, right next to an old Quarry ( = Kofejto in Hungarian ) – hence the name. The young owner is Peter TOTH, who completely re-planted the family’s old vineyard between 2004-8. They still work it together as a family and produce just below 10000 bottles in total each year. Their wines stand out with their very subtle volcanic salty taste even within Somlo – their main plots being on a unique lava-flow of this 6 million year-old extinct volcanic hill.
