Description

“An ancient Hungarian indigenous variety, grown mostly only around lake Balaton, primarily on mount Badacsony. Called the ‘aristocrats grape’ as its cultivation is very costly in terms of time, yield and manpower. It only brings female flowers so we plant it together with its pollenating “partner”, Rozsako.   We fermented this wine spontaneously in stainless steel containers, then aged it in barrels for 3 months.  The wine is like a good furmint – one of few white varieties that ages really well, it is worth laying a few bottles aside in your collection. Pale yellow colour, moderate alcohol, on the nose spring flowers and hay, on the palate vibrant acidity, pear and grapefruit” – Source roughly translated from their HU description: Szászi Birtok
