Description
“ZWEIGELT – Berries, sour-cherry, redcurrant, in the company of light and soft tannins. A fresh and easy-drinking red.
The terroir from where the grapes are from has a very distinct influence ont the taste of the wine. The characteristically flintstone-based and infused thick clay and chalk soil sets the Sümeg area apart from the rest of the appellation. Chalk and Flintstone!! They are not common together and they influence this Zweigelt in an amazing way.
Add to this the organic viticulture, the absolute minimal sulphur treatment only at the first racking, then the bottling of the unfiltered, unclarified product by hand. The winemaker himself calls his process „raising the wine” as opposed to treating it. ” Source: ABELES Cellar
